The North River Task Force unveiled its vision for the OmniSource property at North Side High School Thursday evening. According to Ben Lanka of The Journal-Gazette:
“Gianni Longo, a planning consultant, described the development plan for the area. While it included areas for regional attractions – such as a water park or sports complex – Longo said the most critical aspect of the development was its mixed-use core.
The plan envisions extending Calhoun Street north of the river to State Boulevard, which would be the area’s main corridor. Longo said the plan calls for the street to be lined with retail shops with apartments or condominiums above them.”
I have my own thoughts about the final result and will post them here in the near future.
Dave,
Did you participate in this week’s charette process?
I attended the workshop Monday night as well as the Open House on Wednesday. Due to a prior commitment I had to miss the final “reveal” last night.
