Imagine traveling by gondola from a Nightlife Boardwalk by the Historic Old Fort, directly over Headwaters Park to a Shopping Boardwalk near the Wells Street Corridor. Not only would this be a unique way to get from Point A to B, it would provide breathtaking views of Downtown Fort Wayne and Lawton and Headwaters Parks.

"Fort Wayne has a proud heritage and long ago was the destination of choice for early settlers. The city has lost its Sense of Self. We cannot look to Toledo or Dayton, Indianapolis or Providence for who or what we are supposed to be. We must embrace that which makes us unique. Only we can reclaim the title long lost, and once again become the standard-bearer worthy of emulation."
"I utterly reject the belief that the people of Fort Wayne are resistant to change. They simply have not yet seen a vision they can stand behind. Show them the right plan at the right time and the right price and they will proudly support it."

Dave,
You seem really passionate about seeing something great come out of the north river project.
However I’m not sure a Cedar Point-style sky ride is the best people mover. I spent two summers working at the Point and Sky Ride is super sensitive wind. And if you’ve ever ridden that ride on a cold October evening, you’d be probably be wishing you were in something enclosed.
Keep your ideas coming!
Thanks for the info Rachel. I really appreciate your perspective since you have first-hand knowledge.
Perhaps a closed cabin would be a better fit for our area. I assume Cedar Point’s ride is decades old, even if well maintained. I’ll bet someone has developed a more wind-resistant version in recent years.
I’m grateful that you took the time to post, if for no other reason than it will generate dialog during the planning stage when planning and decision-making are critical.
Dave
